Rivierplaas is a working farm situated ±25km outside of Worcester in the area Scherpenheuwel, on the banks of the Breede River.
Over time the owner, Gerrit Hugo, has developed what started out as the family’s private swimming and picnic area, into the popular camp site it is today.
His aim is, and has always been, to share with others what he enjoys best – God's creation.
The farm is also the base of Breede Adventures, an outdoor adventure company run by Wilna Hugo and JB van Eeden.
As experienced and trained river guides, they offer guided trips down the river - proven to be extremely popular for team building events for school groups and corporates, bachelor parties or family / friends outings.
The farm itself is run by Gerrit’s son, Radie Hugo, while Danelle, the youngest daughter, runs the camp site.
Rivierplaas is more than just a farm, as anyone who has spent time there and with its people will testify. It is a friendly family-run operation, and the pooled talent can provide catering, quality art and craft, fresh produce and local products, and the local knowledge only a third-generation farmer can have.
The Hugo's welcome you to their own private haven.
